A N S    N O T E S                                                 May 2017

From the Board:

Happy May!  The halls are brimming with flowers, butterflies and happiness!  Thank you to everyone who helped to make this year’s Chiavetta’s Spring dinner a great success – we sold out!  And raised $2400 for ANS!  As our school year comes to a close, I want to be sure to thank all of the Parent Board members.  They each have spent countless hours brainstorming, researching and executing plans to make ANS the place to be!  A special thank you to Lori Pietraszewski – we will miss you around the halls next year, my friend!

I am just as excited to share with you our Parent Board for 2017-18:

Jenny Mayer, Chairperson;  Megan Leising, Co-Chair;  Shannon Kneeland, Secretary;  Becky Biddle, Co-Op Liaison;  Emily Stuart & Shannon Ragonnet, Fundraising;  Cat Pavon & Allison Zynda, Social Events; Sarah Utkin, Participation;  Christine Smith, Marketing;  Samantha Brownell, Social Media;  McKenzie Kukulka, Purchasing;  Tim Cosentino, Maintenance;  Chris Capolupo, Payables;  Colleen White & Matthew Norman – Receivables.

We have so many exciting things brewing for next year already!  Wishing you all a happy and safe summer vacation!!

Megan Leising
(outgoing) chairperson

From the Staff:

It’s been a great year once again.  When we came to school Monday morning, the staff was surprised and tickled pink to see the beautiful classroom doors which ANS parents created for Staff Appreciation Week.  They are so creative!  Thank you very much!  You make us feel very loved.  And thanks, also, to the outgoing Parent Board, most of whom have switched to different positions for next year!   Special thanks to chairperson Megan Leising who has served us as chair for four action-packed, fun-filled, productive years.  That’s about 36 newsletters, Megan!

The four year old classes will ride the bus to Akron Acres farm on Friday, May 5.  The bus will leave ANS at 9:15 (four year olds and chaperones – be at school by 9am) and return at 1:00pm.  Let’s hope the rain clouds go away.  Calling all Mothers – be sure to attend the special Mother’s Day festivities your children have planned just for you on May 11 and 12.   Our school picnics are coming up on Tues, May 16 and Wed, May 17.   Permission slips and information will be in your mailboxes soon.  Finally, the last days of school will be upon us before you know it.  Please join us for Moving On Days and Graduation and parties to follow!
